Welcome to my professional portfolio! I’m Audrey Barbakoff, an enthusiastic and dedicated public librarian for all ages. I’m currently an adult services librarian at the Bainbridge Island branch of the Kitsap Regional Library in Washington. Previously I worked for Milwaukee Public Library (WI), where I was lucky to serve in a variety of settings with patrons from infants to seniors, in English and Spanish, at a large central library and a bustling neighborhood branch. I received my MLIS from the University of Washington in 2010.
I’m passionate about public service! I believe that a public library is the heart of its community, a place for lifelong learning and building lasting social ties. I love sharing ideas, information, and reading recommendations with patrons and colleagues. Tell me about your favorite books!
When I’m not reading anything I can get my hands on, I’m a knitting addict, an avid gardener/urban homesteader, a musician, and a very messy baker. (Skills I want to learn next: ASL and quilting.) I’m not saying you should hire me because I take requests for your favorite type of cookie and occasionally give out homemade jam, but you know …. it can’t hurt. In possibly more relevant skills, I speak Spanish and enjoy working with diverse populations of all ages.
I hope you’ll take a moment to get to know me better by perusing my portfolio or contacting me directly. Thanks for your interest, and I’m looking forward to learning more about your library system!

Audrey, I love your twitter name. Lupine’s are especially important for Maine librarians as Barbara Cooney wrote Miss Rumphius here.
Thanks, Peggy! That book is a lifelong inspiration to me – to always try to make the world more beautiful.
